Data-stories: New Media Aesthetics and Rhetorics for Critical Digital Ethnography
WELCOME!
Data-stories is the 1st Greek confestival (conference & festival), bringing together young researchers, cultural producers and the general public for a three-day intellectual adventure. A theoretical conference, as much as a showcase and experience, Data-stories will both explore and perform new media narratives.
Data-stories aims to push contemporary digital culture to its analytic and expressive limits, as we explore some of the critical transformations in sociality, subjectivity, the body and politics defining our datafied contemporary.
Data-stories emerges out of classroom discussions, pedagogical experiments, research, writing and corridor debates at the Department of History, Archaeology and Social Anthropology and the Laboratory of Social Anthropology of the University of Thessaly in Volos, Greece. The aim of this confestival is to open up these conversations, create a space and a time in our busy lives to meet, share ideas, enjoy the company of new and old friends and learn from like-minded, engaged and creative thinkers, researchers and producers.
